The good:
>DB finally managed to procure new loco-hauled push-pull sets to replace their aging loco-hauled push-pull sets
>It's not an EMU
>I kinda like Talgo
The bad:
>DB still can't not call ICE something that is an obvious IC train.
>I don't want them to retire the BR101.
The ugly:
>The cab car is fucking ugly. Old IC cab cars look much better.

TGV Duplex are mostly built out of aluminium and are still doing fine 30 years later.

You think wrong. Dual-system locs and EMU are widespread, be it for use in countries with multiple electrification system (like French 1500V DC/25 kV AC or British 750V DC/25kV AC or 3000V DC/15kV AC for Germany-Benelux cross border traffic, triple-systems aren't exactly rare (cross border high speed trains running 1500V/15kV/25kV between France and Germany/Switzerland, 1500V/3000V/25kV between France and Italy or France and Belgium, including current Eurostar and a bunch of modern freight locomotives) and quad systems, while rare, are very much a thing (original Eurostars including 750V DC, old ass French locomotives for France-Belgium-Germany-NL TEE services, the Thalys PBKA sets that replaced them, and newer universal Freight locos operating around the same area)
