Because games exist to be mastered, learning their mechanics to the fullest extent. At the same time, few games can actually be "solved" and you can play them infinitely, getting better and better. But most people don't realize this, they put 1-10 hours MAXIMUM into a game and then never play it again. The idea of dedicating days if not weeks to fully engaging with a game until you've exhausted everything in it is incompatible with this current ADHD zeitgeist where games are not really games, but "content." You can't consume a game like you can a movie or comic book, the onus is on you specifically to learn and adapt and yet we're like two decades removed from the era where that mindset actually applied to the majority of released games.
