The first game was a bit of a wild lark in the first place; they didn't even think it was going to do as well as it did, so it probably didn't get the resources it needed. Things like crossplay are much more ubiquitous now, so maybe I'm being too dour about the game's prospects for good MP now that the corpos know it'll sell. I certainly wouldn't mind being able to put a party together, and CV is the most openly "power of friendship" soulslike there is.
