How do I turn off mouse acceleration on linux mint 22.1 cinnamon?

Yesterday I did what some fag from reddit recommended, which was messing with /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d file or something similar, i deleted the folder and added it once again, added some text file to it, rebooted my computer and it turned out to brick my whole computer. I somehow repaired it with the help of my friend but now I am scared to mess with it again, yet the mouse acceleration thing is very irritating. I was always a windows fag, just switched to linux mint yesterday. I am very clueless when it comes to messing with system files or the terminal, although I definitely am not as retarded as most computer users.
