Well, if the Pokéworld was as dystopian as ours, Ruby and Sapphire (and probably most other dexholders as well) would sooner or later fall into one rabbit hole or another.

Take the tranny pipeline as an example. Given how they're initially portrayed as naive (Sapph) and selfconfident (Ruby), you only need bad actors persuading them how transitioning would solve all their problems. With Sapphire, she wouldn't suspect anything evil if the lies are well masked and garnished with good intentions that pave the road to hell, and with Ruby, you would only need to stroke his ego.
