This is the exact opposite of the truth. The main series was on N64 (2 games), then PS2 with Curse of Darkness and Lament of Innoncence (+ the cancelled 3D game on Dreamcast). Those were the games with a budget. Meanwhile the GBA games were the spin-offs and Igarashi later complained they basically had no budget and was begging people to buy the games in press conferences in a pretty desperate manner. This trend continue in non retro times with the 3D games being on main platforms while the Igavanias were on handhelds or online download services where small games belong.
