As someone that enjoys their own space and time, and freedom, and then will take breaks to go seek someone out to spend time with them (Not dissimilar to a cat), its hard fucking work.

Like take today for example.
>Roll into work at 10am
>Work until 8pm (Not a regular work day - covering lots of appointments with home visits on top)
>Get home, pretty tired but happy to be home to relax with some vidya
Now at this point, usually I would have my wife cooking dinner for me, which is nice but not 100% necessary because I like cooking, but it will be ready soon after I get in.
Whilst eating dinner, she will insist on re-watching The US Office for maybe the 15th time, because to her she grew up in a house where its assumed you watch tv with dinner, rather than talk.
After dinner, she will then expect you to join her on the sofa and ask what you want to watch. Now maybe you dont want to watch tv, but this is not an option. Because then you are isolating yourself from her and her tv activity, and you are rejecting her.

So you now must choose: Watch something you dont want to watch, and you will sit here for the entirety of your night until it its time to prepare for the next day because if you get up to do something else she will say "where are you going? You dont wanna spend time with me?"

OR

You will say you arent in the moo for tv, and tensions will rise, followed not long after by an inevitable argument.

Tonight, I am lucky. She is doing her nails and will be busy. So I can play vidya.
Otherwise, I would not be able to play vidya until friday at the earliest when she goes to work an evening shift.
