There's only one circumstance where the artstyle being realistic would complement it, as a joke specifically based around the realistic art style not fitting. Like say if someone like Jason was doing a recap of everything, and he depicts everything like it's a comic book drawn by Alex Ross or something. Or pic related. Otherwise, it definitely would go against the cartoony tone way too much.
