yeah that means it works
The syndrome shows up when you select a creature in classic fortress's Arena.
It doesn't show up in arena's creature creator because it is a Syndrome and not an Interaction.

as for testing strengthened tissues, let something start bashing at you and see what happens.
You may have to increase the values if you aren't satisfied
