if you're long term investing, buying dips reduce your average cost basis/lets you have more shares, which means greater total returns. I thought this was just obvious to all dip slurpers. Obviously you don't gain while it's still going down, but if you can slurp all the way down you're doing good, and even if you can't slurp all the way down, as long as you don't panic sell you're still doing great.
