TLDR: The locust is actually the MODERN-DAY Christian Congregation that is prophecied to go out into the world and preach the Good news of God's Kingdom in a giant organized army as fortold by Jesus:

>“This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.”—Matt. 24:14.

It's a giant organized campaign of Christian preaching that will be like an unstoppable plague of locust. No matter how many you kill they are replaced and continue.
