Armour King is one of those guys. It's hard to put my finger on it, however...

>It just sort of rotted and fell apart. A mental disease. Very strange. Not at all like the first empire.
>The First Empire! What happened to that? How did the First Empire end?
>*silence*
...
>>The world is a ruin, people dwell and start anew in the ruins and remnants of fallen civilisations. I fail to see any difference in my own behavior.

I believe we look upon one of the guilty few who is still walking and talking. A mental disease, he says. Which one, hm? Was it that one which spurred on the human independence movement?

>Beings like yourselves are squishy and vulnerable to stabbing by pointed objects.
>Humans are weak against stabbing
>Some advice: Your soft skins are easily pierced by sharp objects.

Very gracious to share armor with mankind and keep them safe. Just one more curiosity:

>I started up this shop in the Second Empire town of Catch. It was a thriving market town, growing very strongly, a great place to start anew and craft the greatest armours in the remnants of the world.
>I am proud to say this shop has been up and running for 937 years!

Armour King, a helpful human sympathizer, has a shop setup in a former Second Empire town, which is now quite close to what is the heart of the Holy Nation. To the north we can find another familiar questionable character (don't worry, Burn's chill) - the unscrupulous Iyo. Being blunt here - the theory isn't too complex:

>Iyo, taking advantage of useful idiots such as Armour King, empowered the human independence movement. Armour King... has no clue why such an end would be sought - it's too distant from his established view of the world. He creates a dangerous paradigm for Skeletons... when was his last reset? Is he insane? Is he telling the truth? Is it possible Cat-Lon... is telling the truth too? They did betray the empire... and look at the world it got them.
