Why fear knowledge?

You surely can read a book without it so dramatically altering your world view that you'd avoid it from fear right? I don't even agree with a lot of it but it does expose the flaws under capitalism that are becoming more apparent today. It's just a book about how money works at a large scale, it doesn't make you communist brother.
