its not likely to raise development costs, but it IS likely to torpedo gacha and live service games. imagine a scenario if you will that meguca or fate or another big dick gacha ended their service, was forced to make their game no longer unplayable, and gacha whales payed some nobody to keep developing the game with their waifus instead of starting from zero and whaling all over again. People are not seething because this will cost a lot, people are seething because they can no longer exploit lonely whales.
