The "middle class" would not buy a 3000+ keyboard. Just to ignore the absurdity of that for a moment, the middle class would stoop to lower price goods at a higher connation of status than what you put in. It is often with the working or upper class where you see people spend at a loss in value for status symbols because for the working class they are willing to hurt themselves to claw out of their class bracket while the upper class have nothing to lose. The middle class however are in a more tenious position where they can fall back into the working class and it is hard for them to advance into the upprt class without spartan level resource management. Middle class people are the same sort of tech nerds who would buy Topres, Model Fs or Beamsprings for half a grand due to the status they provide as well as the idea of them not ever needing to be replaced or bested in typing quality. In other words they would go straight to "endgame".
