I don't even "get" protests in this country, they only ever seem to be excuses for the worst people possible to show up and start fucking things up under a thin veneer of presumed legitimacy. Holding a sign and demonstrating public opinion is one thing, presumably, but whenever a protest is held here they're only ever one of two things:
>1: cringe larpers who wish they were activists in the 60s so they could feel like they matter
>2: criminal opportunists

If there's such a thing as a "legitimate protest" then I haven't seen one in decades.
