youre absolutely right, as nightmarish as that is to imagine. the average person has no idea why internet freedom is important, even when the day comes that they wake up to a police state with no contact to the outside world because all communication is already blocked, and every person has already willingly installed survelliance devices in their homes in the forms of alexa and ring doorbells, and those will be used to enforce the curfews and identify lawbreakers...its not even dystopian, it's just going to be our reality...and the average person will think it came suddenly, with no idea that it happened so slowly years in advance and that they could have fought against it.
