1943, in my opinion. Fall Blau's initial blitz initial advance into the caucuses proves they still were the superior fighting force. The only reason the Germans were encircled at Stalingrad was because the Romanian divisions meant to hold the flanks of the city crumbled when they were attacked by the Soviets.

I know it's such a tired line, but Stalingrad really was the turning point.
