As someone who works with a lot of unfamiliar foreign language places they did an awful approach with the design in that autistic overly-sensitive (but not too sensitive to make a heya hoya joke with whachumeqimeqi being the craft-relating NPC watch you makey makey) excessive localization. It's actually amazing the only pic related they did was with whatever heya hoya bullshit she had for her - right lamat'i or whatever the fuck it was.

But back to the point you need to consider the native readers not speaking the foreign tongue when choosing place names. If I were depicting a story in America and all my places were Chattanooga, Mississippi, Schenectady, Quonochontaug I would be doing a poor job. You can have a place be indig names, but -
