>If you lack the ability to make a proper argument stand on its own merits and merely parrot youtubers, then your opinion is irrelevant.
So all it takes for you to actually reply with "a proper argument" is me writing a transcript? Do you think that the reasoning presented inside the video is somehow invalidated because of the platform? Or is this just a kneecap response to anything posted on youtube (that, conveniently, allows you to dodge the argument)?
>I see you/they are already resorting to >muh chilluns
I see you're not addressing other points I made. My point about "muh chilluns" (mockery rather than taking the point head on, very good!) can, but doesn't have to, be taken literally.
It doesn't have to because simplification can be a propaganda tool (it also allows brainlets to dumb down arguments to get an unfair angle from which they can attack them, hint hint).
It can be taken literally because children LITERALLY SHOW UP ON THE FUCKING SCREEN TO GO TO WAR (and get brutally murdered).
>So we made up our own context where instead of the perfectly reasonable explanation the book had
Putting words in other people's mouths, very good. This must be what you consider making "a proper argument", same as "le funny quotation marked speak". Also people "made up their own context" because retelling stories in a different light has been a staple of media for hundreds of years
>Then I suppose that rather than "War is hell"; (...)
If a director like Verhoeven wanted to make a "war is hell" movie, he'd have surely shot it differently
>He didn't satirize fascism because the picture he painted was not one of fascism
For a change, I'd love to hear you try to support that claim with examples
>reddit etc.
The linebreak shows I'm replying to two points at the same time, else it would suggest I'm primarily replying to the second one. Also I've been here since 2008, reddit hate appeared on pol and spread to other boards so fuck off with your revisionism
