I'm starting to wonder if that's just a Black Sabbath reference since they're from Birmingham, but likely that's too subtle for that era of 40k. They just stole the name outright and maybe changed a letter when they wanted to reference something, see Pirate Mustaine and Calvin Morris here. More likely just a jab at Birmingham.
