"Abandoned" accounts are deactivated after 30 days. (Although I've seen users return well after 30 days.) The "active accounts" stat you see on the login page only counts active accounts. Otherwise the number would be over 150 thousand and you'd see two-year old accounts in search results. I tried decreasing the active account window to 14 days a couple of months ago iirc, but I think 30 days is the sweet spot, especially when there's other indications of users being recently online in the app
