It was tonally a nice blend of AOSTHG and SatAM. It dipped harrrrrrrd into the latter until it was basically SatAM fanfiction after 50, so much so that it had to take a series of writers and retcons to eventually scale it back to something at least resembling the games, and by the time they got there it was too late.
