Workstation chips and gaming chips focus on two different things. Games are built around utilizing fewer but faster cores. It's a complete opposite of what workstation/server chips deliver, they're more concerned about the sheer amount of cores and threads rather than individual performance of them.

Maybe, maybe not. The newest consumer CPUs (not present in pic related) will smoke a threadripper in gaming and they still struggle with Wilds.
