I’ve spent a cumulative 11 hours since Thursday trying to crown-hunt a mini Doshaguma. Not that I need it, since I already got it via a random SoS, but I’ve noticed that it’s exceptionally rare and almost no one has it in crown-hunting squads and discords.

They've had numerous surveys throughout the years. I assume there's a silent majority in favor of more story or it's just ryozo guessing based on the massive amount of sales world got compared to other games. Honestly the reception to 4U likely kickstarted their focus on story since it was fairly well received. When you have people that don't inherently like hunting monsters and crafting gear, you can still convince them to play your game by having a story to keep them going even if it's a mediocre one. That's why wilds lost so many players so quickly and why most players just stop playing after the story and don't engage with endgame at all. Once the story stops they lose interest and capcom knows this. So yes expect much more story going forward whether you're for that or against it

Not that anon, but it's a decent enough game. But it's not a Zelda game.
The normal Zelda way of progressing where you unlock items (hookshot, bow, etc) which allows you to discover new areas isn't there.
They sacrificed enjoyable dungeons for a fuckload of small kinda shit dungeons. The only way I found to have fun in those shitty small dungeons is to figure out how to break them because otherwise they're shit. The open world and exploring is pretty fun though and the physics based shit is nice as well.
Also the bosses sucked ass as well.

Why do you faggots pretend hammer offset is good? Offset is something you need to time and use reactively and both of the hammer offset options are delayed with a timing window of their own that needs to coincide with the monster attack. It's either at the end of a combo or behind a level 2 charge so you basically just have to run around level 2 charging and dodge cancelling it and restarting the charge and hope that it coincides with a monster attack because there are no monster attacks at high level that are slow enough to let you use it on reaction. Absolute dogshit ability.

Their current DLSS/DLAA implementation seems to have stutter issues but I'm not 100% sure. After I turned it off and increased the nvidia shader cache the game ran much smoother. I'd need to check with DLAA enabled again if the stutters return. Likewise no Framegen cause it needs to have DLSS/DLAA turned on. I don't have a 4k monitor so I can't really test 4k native. You will find that a lot of anons don't know how to prepare a clip properly to maximize quality. For example, if you want to do a lengthy clip (over seven seconds), at somewhere around HD, and has a lot of shit happening on screen, you can save a fuck ton by having the source of the clip run at 30fps. If you've got a very short clip that isn't taxing, you then have the option to lower the CRF value. Getting it down to 10 is almost source material quality. When aiming for the best quality, you can end up doing rendering multiple times just so you can get the best results under the 4MB limit.

Performance has been terrible since launch. Capcom has refused to take any serious action to rectify this.

MULTIPLE updates have been said to 'fix' these issues and improve it, but those have been outright lies.
For one small update when Mizutsune came out it seemed to improve it slightly, but every update since then has made it worse and worse, and they have done absolutely nothing to address this outside of trying to 'lecture' people about how to lower their graphics settings.

Mosty notably, a recent update was said to fix the issues with compiling shaders, and improve the load times and necessity to purge the shader cache. This was a lie, and they very much just hoped people would go along with it.

To start with this game is a ton of fun if you just want a decent story with some great action. However if you want a monster hunter game that is not what this is.
All the game play is fun they have removed a lot of the friction that gave Monster Hunter its unique identity.
The inclusion of more defensive options including evades and Perry's and perfect blocks on nearly every weapon as well as the inclusion of extremely easy to access skills simply makes this game the easiest in the entire franchise by a country mile.
This is like if Monster Hunter rise decided it was actually the mainline game of last generation and not Monster Hunter world.

Ultimately still not a bad game assuming you can run it with a horrible optimization. But as a Monster Hunter Fan who came here for a monster hunter game this is simply not what I wanted.

I'm having a lot of fun with Rise right now, I'm hoping we get more creative monsters in Wilds like Nu Udra with the expansion since I had the most fun fighting him. Bringing back old monsters is cool and all, but I'm hoping the negative reception they're getting now will push them into a position where they put their creativity into overdrive and make new cool stuff for G-Rank. Also I would very much like it if they expand Seikrets to be closer to Palamutes, with faster summoning and even customizing skills.
