It's one of those lessons that you know, but you don't commit to. Mr. Miyagi, in his pidgin English, said it best in the first Karate Kid movie:

When it comes to writing, you need to commit to making progress or you need to put your idea on a shelf and not think about it until you are ready to make progress.
