I googled to see if there's a flower associated with the Sanzu river and they mentioned the 彼岸花 (higanbana) which does mean "Flower of the Other Shore" and refers to Red Spider Lilies. You see these a lot since they are associated with death.

But these are clearly not those, since those are a very visually distinct flower.
