I visit a lot of museum galleries and that's how I've seen them explain it. There's a local one which has a fairly realistic portrait but that's because there would've been a small but real Native American presence at the time

That's what the New England Natives look like, I've been to the Narragansett rez a few times and Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun which are really the only locales that still have them down here
