Those things are the least of its issues, and not even as bad as you think.
The main problem with this game is how it doesn't trust you to find the actual contents of space interesting, it infantilizes you by only handing you the controller on the "interesting" parts, it doesn't trust you to enjoy the mechanical pleasure of a perfect take off/landing and those quiet transitory moments of traversal. It always wants to get you to the next "scene" which is puzzling because Skyrim and Fallout both understood that the journey is the point. The journey creates the momentum that makes getting somewhere meaningful.

Never cared for the rover. Would a rover really be explicitly necessary if you could manually land wherever? It's a band-aid. The rover should be a luxury, not a necessity.
