The theme of this Fishing Contest was Lagiacrus, the Thunder-element crocodilian Leviathan who was first introduced in Monster Hunter Tri, which the Gathering Hub is inspired by! To put it into technical terms, you could get bonus points by the following:
>Capturing a member of the Totodile-line
>Capturing an Electric-type Pokemon
