My two cents is that I can't believe nobody noticed that they literally swapped their personalities because people have legitimately forgotten that Silver is meant to be a serious character like Knuckles or Shadow so they assume that Flynn was ripping off Sally for early IDW Amy meanwhile they forgot that Amy is meant to be a cute character like Tails or Cream so they see Silver making meme faces while acting like a child and think it's a unique twist on the character and not an active reversal of what he's meant to be.
Nevertheless I've stopped caring, SEGA clearly wants to wash their hands clean of early Amy and the fandom seems to have accepted this and I expect the movies to drive the nails deeper but in the case of Silver, I'm waiting for his next big game role to see if they will course correct him back or continue with what the comics have done.
