>didn't feel sincere.
Maybe I'm just ignorant but I didn't ever really feel it was insincere, some of it could be a little cringe though.
>It's just too kiddy in hindsight.
I certainly have noticed how pretty much every episode has like a moral lesson at the end, but then again it kind of is a kids show. I suppose the only way it could've been rectified is having it be more of a teen target demographic but back in 2012 that would've never worked.
The other thing about that is that the show just wouldn't be as funny, to me a lot of the humor comes from the way of getting around the censors. Stan saying "What the h?" instead of "What the hell?" is more funny. That joke comes from a place of limitations create art I think, and not everyone finds that kind of humor as funny as I do. I just can't see the show working as well if it was meant for an older audience.
Maybe now a more mature take/sequel could be done because things like invincible have proven their popularity and the audience that watched gravity falls (me) have grown up. But again I can't see Hirsch sticking the landing.
Like everything else in life, it wouldn't beat your imagination.
>That said I still want Wendy to sit on my face
Kinda surprised it took this long for someone to start thirst posting.
Also semi-related but I was taken aback at just how little of a role Wendy actually plays in the story. For a main character she sure doesn't have much in the way of it. Its why episodes like the bunker one feel off since Wendy actually has something of a personality beyond being an object of obsession for dipper. Also I forgot how many of the episode's plots are influenced by Dipper's crush. I think Hirsch did later say he was disappointed with how underutilized certain characters were in the end. Wendy deserved more.

I kinda like it, I think it could've worked in place of the intro sequence but it doesn't have the shock factor that weirdmageddons intro does.
