It’s just a cope built upon the previous cope which has now become bedrock (like a lot of things in queer academia). Gaining prominence after people started pointing out large swaths of the “born this way” crowd don’t behave anything like their target gender they supposedly felt dysphoric about and “changed their body to be more in line with how they truly are inside”.
