Feels like a nationwide issue for Jap companies. I don't even know what's causing it. Shitty economy? Retarded management or stockholders? Scared of fucking up under pressure? I mean, when Square Enix finally "remastered" FF7 like people have been begging for years, they kinda fucked it up and they also took (still are) way too long. Maybe it's jap boomers who think they can rest on their laurels and pull out trump cards left and right and have everything be magically guaranteed to be fine when shit hits the fan, so they don't want to waste these trump cards. But it's such a retarded strategy and mindset. Maybe talent is hard to come by in Japan now?

Considering SEGA wasted $100 million on HYENAS and didn't even release it is telling. The Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio live-service games are even more telling. Especially cause those two games are basically guaranteed to flop. $300 million+ literally flushed away when they could've spent half of that building up NGS to make more than whatever they spent on the SUPER GAMES project.
