I really hope this is a troll/bait post. The main character who swore to destroy the enemies who threaten his people, and killed his mother, literally the pillar concept and premise of the manga, ended up revealed to be a madman who just wanted to kill foreign enemies for the sake of it, and to that purpose he was the one who actually killed his mother. In the end he wasn't even able to realize why he, himself, did all that. And you ask how the character was assassinated?
