It was pretty original all things considered. Also as you mention, that the MC is a tank of all things rather than a pure attacker.
I wouldn't mind a remake in 2025 with better graphics and music provided they continue the Aegis of Uruk mood rather than the more serious and thus more generic Sword of Uruk
