Boomers don't understand that the actual physical quality of the jobs get worse with every decade.
Target used to have dedicated crews performing backstock. An entire team just for putting overflow back where it belongs. This was reduced into a task that a "team member" now squeezes into the end of his shift. One person is doing the job of three which was actually six people back in the 80's. Repeat this theory but across an entire economy.
This is why the boomer work ethic is overrated, by and large they had incredibly simple and straightforward jobs with rigid skillsets. If any of them applied for jobs today they'd get eaten alive.
