It's honestly sad that they have the literal perfect IP and assets for a perfect Rekoeition game and don't have one executive smart enough to use it. FFTA3 could be an RPG/Simulator game where you have very little story, but instead just your bevy of classes and heroes as you allocate resources both common and rare, travel throughout Ivalice encountering monsters and bandits along the way, accepting requests from towns to go do hunts or escorts or gather special materials, etc. Every day your Clan could get a bit bigger, with new recruits being commonly available, and as your Clan increases in size, you'll even be able to task redundant/extra members out to doing menial tasks or going off on missions supplemental to your own so that your massive clan is actually all doing stuff at once, and maybe have some goal of defeating some demon god or whatever so you can aim towards it. The absolute /dream/ would be to go fully Mount and Blade with it, starting your party off as a bunch of nobody freelancers who eventually can engage in various kingdoms in actual war, overtake the continent, and your final win condition is total dominance of Ivalice.
