Lego has sales data that shows Star Wars sets can sell for that much, so they do. there's no reason for them not to. the data shows that they would not sell twice as many for half the price, as it could. (even half that, is still much more than the JP set!)

Lego will not leave money un-grabbed, just to "be cool about it."

nobody knows why Kim Kardassian is popular, but she is. some things just don't make sense, but they exist. the public demands KK be popular, the public demands Star Wars sets be expensive.

Star Wars fans have only themselves to blame. if they stopped buying sets for these prices, they would certainly lower.
