The boardwalk is all fucked up and supposedly closed, but like always, you can ignore the big red sign and walk where you want. It leads to an abandoned beach, then the hiking trail leads from the back side of the old restaurant/bathroom buildings through the forest to the next big beach. Inland are dozens of trails. So much unspoiled nature easily accessible from a city of 500,000. It's remarkable.
