It really depends on by the generation. Italy managed to broadcast Golion in 1982 which was then rebroadcast as Voltron some time later.

However in Italy, for the most popular robot it is a battle between Daitarn 3, Great Mazinger and Grendizer. But it is not easy to give a precise answer because Italy is one of those European countries that broadcasted practically any robot anime from 80-90.
