1/2
Played about 30 hours over the weekend and I wanted to share my thoughts on the game so far as well as get others opinions.
Pros
>Combat
Combat is decently fast paced once you unlock every system. Dash attacks, parries and dodges all feel good to execute it gives that cool factor to the combat. I like the combo system presented and that unlike most hack and slashes mashing is absolutely a terrible idea and the game will punish you for it.
>enemies
They don't look super interesting but each enemy has a unique moveset you have to learn or react to. Enemies are relentless and constantly put pressure on you, especially bosses. The boss encounters are easily the most enjoyable aspect of the combat. Especially when you re-encounter stronger versions of bosses you beat as a side quest. They put endless pressure on you forcing you to abuse any system you can. If you're too defensive you just die you need to be swinging in between their combos and perfect blocking/dodging as the attacks come. I feel like this is a huge step up from a lot of hack n slash or souls games where you take turns fighting.
>Difficulty
For comparison I've maxed difficulties on multiple DMC games Nier, KH and Nioh etc. I feel like the game not having an RPG system means they scale the enemies up to make it more skillbased combatwise there's a few tweaks you can make but for the most part you're on your own with the skill tree pretty much only giving damage and little to no survivability options outside of your healing potion and blocks/dodges. Combat is definitely harder than any fromslop, things like Nier or KH, easier than things like Nioh. If there's a harder difficulty option after beating the game I genuinely can't immagine doing this game hitless atm.
>Exploration
I've been having fun with the world actually it feels nice to traverse and look for secrets/boxes doing the mini games or puzzles isn't challenging but a small break from the action. It reminds me of old platfomers
