Thats the thing, I want to cycle on trails but also use it to ride to the shops/gym. So should I just go for full mountain or go for the compromise hybrid? I think mountain would be best, esp with how shit the roads and paths are here anyway.

The problem is my car needs a new catalytic converter and four new tyres so if I spend my recent winnings on a bike it might bite me in the arse, unless I ditch the car for a bit.
