well the good thing about the pyramid is that the outer shell is super easy to replace because it's all just incline panels covering up the step-pyramid underneath, so you can always upgrade that later at least. also remember that you can use that hollow slope section outside of your 10x10 core to house stuff that takes up a ton of space. it's where i set up my reactor room for example. i have a similar set up with my water tanks on the opposite side.
