I'm a service plumber, will give an estimate for literally any work a customer asks about after consulting chatgpt and roughly estimating hours and material costs; with padding of course for me fucking up time
90% of stuff i'm experienced with but I find myself a couple times a week just looking up some random shit and winging it
did new construction previously, real fucked economy and quality there. would never buy something made since 2010

before that I was a competent aspiring chef, I consider it a trade even if most don't. big difference in efficiency and quality if you treat it as such. economy also sucks there and best to diy instead of be professional
