I was going to post something along this line. What are the English a race of, if they are not a race of philosophers? Isn't the most obvious answer that they are a race of poets? What does English do best, if not poetry? What has England produced the most great figures of, if not poets?

Their cousins the Scottish, the Welsh, and the Irish are poets, too. The British Isles are a feverish den of poetry, a hub of meter and rhyme.
