One doesn't have to either love or hate all aspects of all cities, absolutely. And (You) don't have to defend the bad things about cities, just because you like the good things.
I live in a big European city. Loudness, stinkyness, crowdedness, ugly modern architecture, junkies and brown people are an issue. But i quite like the museums, historic buildings and my job (see, it's not a dichotomy).
Maybe you're right about me coping - i guess i do have to cope with all the garbage parts of city life, by avoiding the city center like a plague, growing a big fat balcony, and shitposting on this Bhutanese spear fishing site right now
