What's it matter that I don't care about who UNKNOWN CHARACTER if they get played with in the same manner as Dude McHalo or Predator Knockoff from the famous Bungie franchise, Halo?

There's entire toylines that aren't from anything, just shit that was created to LOOK COOL so people will buy it. Lines like Acid Rain and Marauder Gun Runners are literal who series without any real characters and i use their toys in the same way i use random monsters/aliens/robots from who-cares series.

If anything, this is starting to sound like more consumerism. Are you only allowed to buy shit from established, popular series too?

Shit man, even GI Joe started off as generic soldier man that kids only bought into the series because he was the best soldier man toy on the market. The story was added only after he got popular. And these stories were only added because MARKETING figured out that shit will sell better if you attach story/movies/games/comics/cartoons/etc to them.
Whatever happened to imagination and creating your own story? Oh right, killed by consumerism because people need to enforce following trends.
