I used Contrast paints on two things: the skin and the little warpstones held by the smol rats. For the skin, though, it was more like a basecoat/roadmap, from there, I adjusted and built up the 'real' contrasts.
For the horns, to be fair, I had a lot of space to work with and could really spread the gradient the way I wanted. My advice, looking at your work, would be: don’t be afraid to use darker colors to push the contrast, white pops a hundred times more next to black (ehe).
