>Amazon buys MGM solely just to get the James Bond IP
>they don't realize that the IP is not owned by MGM but by EON Productions
>they paid billions for nothing
>they pay ONE BILLION DOLLARS MORE to get the Bond IP and start making movies, games, etc.
>IO's Bond game was already well into development long before they bought Bond
>The last movie was 4 years ago and that's an eternity in today's media culture
>You have to make Bond 26 PRONTO so the franchise doesn't become a forgotten relic after 15 years of Daniel Craig's mediocrity
>You have a ready-made actor (ATJ) and a top-level journeyman director that Bond thrives under (David Leitch) who are willing to do it NOW and get the movie out as early as May 2027 and bring classic Bond back in all his glory
>they pitch their take together as an actor/director duo and Pascal receives it well but Heyman rejects it because he wants Bond to be "prestige" so he can look good to his geriatric Britbong industry friends
>Get Villeneueve, a director who's not only completely unsuited in every way for Bond and has an entire blockbuster to shoot, edit and produce before he can start thinking about working on Bond (meaning pre-production on Bond 26 will only begin in 2027, meaning the movie might be released in 2029 or 2030)
>pretty much ensuring the IP is completely forgotten and the game usurps the movies
>instead of an action-proven popular star like ATJ, you reject him and get a "prestige" dramatic actor who looks like a rodent called Josh O'Connor
Out of all the franchise deaths in recent memory, this has got to be the most brutal and whimpery.

We're continuing from yesterday's thread in which we discussed Bond 26 and the franchise in general. What we know so far:
>Denis Villeneuve is the director
>Shooting is scheduled for early 2026
>Writer's room is assembled to crack the script; Villeneuve will approve the drafts
>Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the "first choice" for the new Bond and the bookies' favourite
Discuss.
